Orthodox community centres in Juba Orthodox diocese

The diocese consists of five Orthodox communities  which are:

  1. Juba
  2. Wau
  3. Malakal
  4. Yei
  5. Nimule

These orthodox communities are very far from the main center Nimra Talata where Bishop stays. Wau is 518kms away from juba, Malakal is 520kms away from the Main center Juba. Yei is 155kms way from the Centre, and also Nimule is 195kms away from the Centre.

Of all these centers only one Centre has a permanent church building. Its only Wau which has a permanent church and a vicarage where the priest can stay.

Christians from Yei, Malakal. Nimule, Pray from rented places or sometimes in one of the Christians homes. There is need to build a church, and clinic and schools in these centers for proper spiritual social and physical Development of the orthodox Christians there.

Juba which is the Centre of Orthodox church in South Sudan has no church also. The bishop has a chapel which he uses as a cathedral built by Dr Charles Linderman who is the head of Orthodox Laity Juba and All South Sudan Diocese. Most orthodox Christians in Juba pray with the Bishop in this chapel.
